SHUMAN GRANT APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN
The Walled Lake Foundation For Excellence (FFE) has an endowment fund created by Bob Shuman to support scholarships for students participating in performing arts. Typical grant amounts received vary between $50-$300 based on financial need and number of applicants. Funds can be used to support participation in marching band, orchestra, choir and theater. Funds are NOT provided for private lessons; only for participation in WLCSD Performing Arts programs. This year's budget will be around $2700 based on a yearly 5% usage of the endowment fund.
Any student who plans to participate in these performing arts activities in 2025 can apply.
**If you received financial aid through WLMB in the 2024 season and you plan to apply for aid again for the 2025 season, you MUST also apply for aid from this Shuman Grant in order to continue to be considered for WLMB financial aid.**
The Google application form for the Shuman Grant must be completed by the student through their @students.wlcsd.org email address.
Here is the link to the grant: Application Deadline for the Shuman Grant for the 2025 marching band season is March 21st.
Any awarded funds will be dispersed directly to WLMB via WLW & WLC and will be applied to the student's marching band account.
